Ten on Tuesday

Today is Sara's 10th birthday.  Where does the time go?  Seems like just yesterday she was this size:

And now she's this size:

It's no secret that it's been quite a year for Sara.  Moving to Utah, ending up in the hospital, all the tests and doctor appointments.  But in spite of all this, she has bounced back extremely well.  She has quite a few good friends here, is doing amazing in school, and for the most part, has remained her happy, cheerful self.  She loves her hamster.  She's enjoying Girl Scouts.  She's looking forward to playing softball again in the spring.

Sara has a great sense of humor and she likes everyone.  She didn't say anything other than "Mommy", "Daddy" and "Jacoby" until she was over 2.  And if you know her, you know she hasn't stopped talking since.  She loves her brother above everyone else - she sent him a school valentine last week, but none to any of her friends.  She's got a perfectionist streak and gets upset with herself if she misses even one word on her spelling test or one problem on her math homework.  Her favorite foods are green beans and cucumbers.  Her favorite color is blue.

Today, she will hand out cupcakes to her class.  She decided not to have a party with her friends this year.  We'll go out for dinner later this week.  She's getting a new bed, if JCPenney ever calls to say it's in.

  1. Sara looks just like you in that "1 year" photo. Glad to hear how well she has adjusted to the move. I felt a little guilty ordering girl scout cookies from the little neighbor girl yesterday. They live two doors down from our new house.... so with Sara so far away, I had to do it.

Younger siblings loving older siblings..... that would only be in my dreams!!! Lucky you. Happy birthday Sara.... slow down on that growing up thing would ya?
