Hello Again!

So much for better blogging practices.  I just cannot be trusted.  Why you all continue to come here and read is beyond me.  But I thank you for coming back anyway.

I'm not working anymore, but I am babysitting a 3-year-old during the day.  His dad works with Mitch and it all just kind of came together shortly before I left my other job.  And let me tell you, when your kids are 10 and 12, you forget what having a 3-year-old around all day is like.  Busy, busy, busy.  But we're having fun so it's been good.

We're in our new house.  I can hardly believe we found one after all the looking and searching we did.  And actually, this house is in the same neighborhood as where we were renting.  But it's a great house and almost everything we wanted.  It's very close to several of Jacob's friends as well, so that's been great for getting him out of the house to hang out.  We're almost completely unpacked now and pretty well settled.  There are always things you're working on and improvements to be made of course.  My scrapbook room needs to be put together and I'm so looking forward to having a place to have my things set up and ready to go.  Then I won't have any more excuses not to get crafting!

Sara started playing the oboe with the Pony Band, a program run by the middle school band director to start elementary school kids in music earlier.  This is the same program that kept Jacob playing the trumpet when we moved here last year.  She's only been going for 2 weeks, Mondays and Wednesdays, but she's enjoying it.  Speaking of band, Jacob is contemplating a switch to the french horn.  The school has instruments you can rent for the year - for only $70! which is quite a bargain if you know anything about the cost of renting from a traditional music store - and he's trying one out right now.  The school has 2 new french horns on order and when those come in, he can decide if he wants to switch for good.  He wants to keep his trumpet and play both.  He's also volunteering with the Pony Band program to help teach new trumpet players.

In other sad news, Elliot is no longer on Law & Order: SVU.  I know I speak for you and I both when I say how sad we are at this terrible turn of events.  But together, we'll get through this.  Thank you of course for your continued support.  :)
