A Note Before Visits

So, let's see...what's happened?

How about I go with what's going to happen first?  Mitch's dad and stepmom arrive tomorrow for a visit.  They are staying until Monday.  The kids are of course excited.  I wish I could say I'm ready, but if you know me at all, you know I work best under pressure so I'm waiting until tomorrow to do anything.  As I do.

My mom arrives on Tuesday.  That's right, the day after Mitch's dad leaves.  Talking about planning.  She's staying for almost a week.  The only plan we have is to take a ride on the Heber Valley Railroad over the weekend.  It should be fun.

Back to the present time...

Today is Mitch's birthday.  We're actually putting it off until tomorrow so we can celebrate with his dad and Annette, who's birthday is actually tomorrow.  Good timing, if you ask me.  Which you are here reading this blog, so I'm going to take that as asking.

A shout out to my stepmother Nancy, who is also celebrating a birthday today.

We're all unpacked at the new house.  In fact, now we're at the stage of packing things back up and putting them in the basement.  Actually, that's just Jacob, who can't part with ANYTHING, yet doesn't have a 10,000 square foot room that will hold all of his treasures.  The boy needs to learn to LET GO already.  It's the complete opposite with Sara, who when she cleans her room, I have to look through her throw-away pile and say "Um, yeah, you're keeping this,"  Have I mentioned my kids are total opposites?  Because they are.  Totally.

Halloween is right around the corner and I've heard the weather is supposed to be good this year.  Sara, if you didn't see the picture on Facebook, is a scary doctor and Jacob is going to be a banana, if he and his friends decide to dress up.  I still need to get some more candy.  Can never have enough, you know.

I'd end with a promise to blog more, but you know I can't be trusted.
